Keys4Kids — A Playful Introduction to Cybersecurity

How do you explain passwords, data protection and digital safety to children? Keys4Kids is an experimental project exploring playful, tactile approaches to cybersecurity education. Using a small programmable keyboard with colorful icon keys, children learn fundamental concepts — like protecting secrets, choosing strong passwords, and understanding who can see their information — through hands-on interaction rather than lectures.

  • Target audience: Children aged 6–12
  • Approach: Tactile, icon-based interaction with a programmable macro pad
  • Topics: Passwords, personal data, digital trust, safe communication
  • Status: Experimental / proof of concept
